What this screen reads, and how it finds your study star
One thing goes in here: the day you were born. An hour saved in your profile is used if it is there, and an exam date is optional. From that it builds your chart and looks at the day master — the heavenly stem of the day you were born, the element that stands for you. The element that generates that day master is the resource star (印星), and this screen calls it your study star.

The pairing is not a choice. It is the generating cycle read backwards: water grows wood, wood feeds fire, fire makes earth, earth bears metal, metal holds water. Whatever generates your day master is your study star.
The right-hand column is a share of people, not a score. Every day anyone could be born on from 1940 through 2019 — 29,220 of them — was run through the engine one at a time, counting how often the study star landed among that chart's favourable elements. Across all 5 rows it comes to 57.3%, so a little over half of people get the first of the two study-luck lines; the other line is not a shortfall, it describes a different rhythm.
One row sits noticeably lower. A metal day master has earth for a study star, and earth is favourable in only 47.5% of charts. The table sets all 5 side by side rather than hiding the low one.
Giving a birth hour adds a fourth pillar and the weights are cast again. Running the same days against all twelve two-hour branches, this verdict flipped outright in 11.8% of them. Without an hour this screen answers from three pillars only.
Gender is neither asked for nor used. Nor is your name, your school, your past marks, or which exam you are sitting.
What an exam date adds — the stem of that one day
An exam date is read for exactly one thing: the heavenly stem of that day and the element it belongs to. The stems come back round to where they started every 10 days. The branch of that day — which animal it falls on — is not read here at all.

The right-hand column is again a share of people rather than a score: the same 29,220 charts crossed with one full 10-day turn of the stems, 292,200 pairs in all.
Leaving the exam date empty is fine. Without one this screen simply does not write the exam-day line — it does not invent a day you did not give.
The same birth date, the same hour and the same exam date give the same sentences however many times you press it. There is no draw and no randomness here.
There is no score here and no probability of passing. Nor is it a list of good days to sit an exam — the date is rarely yours to choose, and luck only ever supports. Studying is what passes.

The baseline checks whether your resource element (인성, the traditional 'study star') is one of your chart's favorable elements (용신). The exam-day reading takes that day's real 60-day-cycle pillar and compares it to your favorable and unfavorable elements — a supportive day, a pressing day, or a plain day.
We never attach a score or percentage — the exam day reads as a shape, not a number. And we say it plainly: luck only supports, studying is what passes.

No — the baseline study-foundation reading works from your chart alone. The exam-day layer only appears if you add a date.
Whichever one generates your day master in the five-element cycle — Wood generates Fire, Fire generates Earth, Earth generates Metal, Metal generates Water, Water generates Wood — so a Water day master's study element is Metal. A 'supportive' exam day is any day whose element is that study element or otherwise favorable in your chart; a 'pressing' day is only the single element marked unfavorable. Everything else reads as plain.
