About Bokki

Bokki gathers twenty-three divination traditions in one place: Korean Saju (the Four Pillars), the I Ching, Vedic jyotisha, Western astrology, tarot, numerology, runes, ogham, the Maya day-signs, gematria, ʿilm al-raml and more. Korean Saju is the home tradition; the others are gathered alongside it, each kept in its own terms rather than blended into one generic horoscope. Everything is free. There is no account, no password, and no paywall on the daily reading.

This is the part most fortune sites skip. Saju is built from the 24 solar terms (절기) with 立春 as the year boundary, and corrected to true solar time for your birthplace — not the calendar month, not the clock on the wall. Vedic and Western charts come from an astronomical ephemeris. The Maya day-sign uses the GMT 584283 correlation. 발음오행 follows the 1446 訓民正音 解例本 sound-to-element table, and says openly that most modern Korean naming practice differs. The reading you read is written over that chart, not pulled from a bag of generic sentences.

Where a value cannot be computed honestly, Bokki says so instead of filling it in. If you do not know your birth time, the hour pillar is left empty — never quietly set to noon. And a reading is a mirror, not a verdict: Bokki never puts a number on another person's feelings or choices, never predicts whether someone will come back, and gives no medical, legal or financial advice. Wellness pages read the balance of the five energies for gentle self-care; they are not a diagnosis, and a doctor is the right place for that.

Some living traditions are held by initiated practitioners inside a community — Ifá and Búzios, sangoma bones, coca-leaf reading, Aboriginal star lore. Bokki describes them with respect and deliberately does not turn them into a feature. An app cannot stand in for an initiation, and pretending otherwise would be the opposite of respect.

Bokki is made by betterforwhat, a very small independent team in Korea. It began as a question — what if a daily fortune lowered your anxiety instead of feeding it, and ended with one small thing you could actually do today. It is paid for by ads, which is why the ad rules are strict: no gambling, no crypto, no diet products, no dating; never a full-screen ad before a reading; and the free daily reading always finishes without one. Birth details are used to build the chart and then dropped — there is no database of you.
