Opening your pouch…
A comprehensive, section-by-section reading — personality, love and marriage, wealth, career, study, health and relationships — plus the year fortune (세운) for the saju year you are in and the one after it, the ten-year luck pillar (대운) you are standing in, and where you sit on the Samjae wheel. All of it is derived from your own chart.
Everything is derived from your real chart: day-master strength, your favorable element (용신), and the Ten Gods (십신) relationships between your day master and the rest of the chart. There's no generic filler — each field reads differently because your chart is different.
We don't attach a percentage or numeric score to your life or choices, and this isn't medical, legal, or financial advice. Where your birth hour is unknown, the hour pillar is left blank rather than guessed.
The Ten Gods (십신) describe the relationship between your day master and each other element in your chart — they're the grammar the report's career and wealth sections are built from. See /about/sipsin.
The hour pillar is left blank rather than filled with a guess — we say plainly when a piece of the chart is unknown instead of inventing it.
This page is the odd one out among the readings here: it has no form. There is not a single field to fill in — it opens the profile you already saved and prints what the chart you already carry says. So the useful thing to explain is not what to type, but how far the reading moves when the chart moves, and that can be counted rather than described. Every day from 1960-01-01 to 2019-12-31 went through the same engine that answers you — 21,915 days, sixty whole years, one complete turn of the sixty-year cycle the year pillar runs on. Each of those days was read once with the birth hour unknown and once for each of the twelve double-hours of the day, which is 284,895 charts in all.
| Section | Wordings without a birth hour | Wordings with every hour | Changed by the hour |
|---|---|---|---|
| Personality | 6,344 | 20,105 | 56.2% |
| Love & Marriage | 124 | 1,032 | 100.0% |
| Wealth | 722 | 929 | 54.8% |
| Career | 1,015 | 1,644 | 40.7% |
| Study & Exams | 493 | 680 | 49.9% |
| Health | 2,491 | 12,641 | 59.9% |
| Relationships | 447 | 1,074 | 71.1% |
Added up, the seven sections came to 11,636 different paragraphs with the hour unknown and 38,105 with it known. That is a count of what the engine emitted, not a promise: each section is assembled clause by clause off the chart, so the clauses themselves are a finite set and two charts that agree on every axis a section reads will agree word for word. The point of the table is the opposite of a boast — it is the shape of the set, so you can see which sections are fine-grained and which are broad. Personality is the widest at 6,344, and Love & Marriage the narrowest at 124.
The birth hour is the piece most people are least sure of, so it is worth knowing exactly what it costs. Read without a time, the hour pillar came back empty in every one of the 21,915 charts — nothing is filled in for it, and nothing is guessed. Read with one, the same chart moved somewhere between 40.7% and 100.0% of the time depending on the section: Career shifted least, and Love & Marriage shifted in all 262,980 probes without a single exception. So a report read without an hour is not a wrong report. It is a shorter one — the lines that would have been read off the hour pillar are missing rather than invented.
The year this page calls yours is not the year on your wall calendar. A saju year turns at 입춘, the beginning-of-spring solar term, so early January still belongs to the year before. Across 2020 to 2039 the two disagree on 695 of 7,305 days, or 9.5% of the calendar — never fewer than 34 days in a year and never more than 35. Of the twenty years in that window the turn landed on February 5 in fifteen of them and February 4 in the other five. If you open this page in January and the year on the card is the one you thought had ended, that is the reason, and it is the same reason your 세운 card and your 삼재 card agree with each other rather than with the first of January.
The year fortune reads the stem of that year against your day master, and that relationship is one of the ten Gods (십신). We asked it of ten different day masters across the twenty years of the window: every one of them met all ten kinds, and no kind came up more often than another — two turns each across those twenty years, so no chart is ever stuck on one of them. The wheel comes back around every ten years, measured rather than assumed. The elements ride it the same way — each of the five elements carried exactly four of those twenty years, so two years in every ten belong to each element. That is why the number of favourable years in any ten-year stretch is the size of your 용신 multiplied by two: of the charts we checked, 220 of 220 came out that way, and a 용신 of two, three or four elements is what the window actually produced.
Samjae is a position on a wheel, not a verdict on you. Asked of all twelve zodiac animals across sixty years each, every single animal was inside it for exactly fifteen of those years — three years in every twelve, the same fraction for everyone born under any sign. Whether you are in it right now says where the twelve-year wheel happens to be standing, and the card on this page names the phase you are in — entering, middle or leaving, the classical 들·눌·날 — instead of leaving you to guess how far along the three years you are.
There is no year to choose here, and no date to set. The report shows the saju year you are standing in and the one after it, plus the ten-year luck pillar (대운) that is currently open — all three taken from today and from the profile you saved, with nothing on this page to adjust. If no profile is saved, the page says so and points you at the screen that asks for a birth date, rather than filling the gap with a default chart.
