Dreaming of death
The dream people wake from most frightened is, in Korean tradition, one of the most auspicious there is. Death in a dream is read as an ending that clears ground.
Korean 해몽 reads death as rebirth, and it does so without hedging: 죽는 꿈은 길몽, the dream of dying is a good dream. The reasoning is the tradition's own logic of reversal — the end of one state is the beginning of the next, so the dream marks a threshold rather than a loss. Dreaming of your own death is read most strongly, as a version of your life closing so another can open. Dreaming of someone living is not read as a warning about them; the old books turn it toward that person's longevity, or toward a change in your relationship with them.

If you woke from this shaken, that is worth naming before anything else. Death dreams cluster around thresholds — moves, endings, roles being put down — and the fear is usually about the size of a change, not about dying.
