Dreaming of a snake
Korean dream tradition reads the snake as wealth, as change you are already inside, and as one of the most common 태몽 — the dream that announces a child.
In Korean 해몽 the snake sits among the 길몽, the auspicious dreams. Three readings run through the old books at once: money that arrives and settles, a shedding you have already begun, and the 태몽 — the dream said to announce a pregnancy in the family. Where the snake goes matters more than the snake. One that comes toward you, enters the house, or coils around your body is read most strongly; one glimpsed and gone is read as a smaller, passing version of the same thing. The 구렁이, the great old serpent, is not read as a quick windfall but as something substantial that arrives slowly and stays.

- Read as several small streams rather than one river — a number of openings at the same time, or in 태몽 reading, twins.
Outside the Korean books, a snake in a dream is usually the mind's picture of shedding — a role, a habit, a version of yourself you have grown past. If the dream frightened you, fear is simply the ordinary shape of change while it is still happening. It says nothing about the kind of person you are.
Is a snake dream a pregnancy dream (태몽)?
It is one of the most common in Korea. Tradition reads a whole, clear snake as the sign, and often links the great 구렁이 to a son and a slender bright snake to a daughter — though the old books contradict each other on that, so treat it as folklore rather than a rule.
